Benzyl headgroup-bearing cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)-based micellar system for mediated electrolytic dechlorination in aqueous media |
초록 |
Electrocatalysis in micelles enables the difficult dehalogenation reactions of toxic organic pollutants to be achieved in aqueous media. A benzyl headgroup-bearing CTAB-based surfactant (cetylbenzyldimethylammonium chloride (CBDAC)) was studied for its structural effect on the dechlorination of allyl chloride (AC) by electrogenerated [Co(I)(bipyridine)3]+. First, the surfactant aggregates were characterized by CV and RDE techniques using [Co(II)(bpy)3]2+/[Co(I)(bpy)3]+ as redox probes. The information was subsequently used to explain the differences exerted by CBDAC and CTAB surfactants on the AC reduction process. |
