제목 Adsorption of Gaseous Toluene on Amorphous TiO2 Nanoparticle
초록 Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can be removed by TiO2, which is an important issue in environmental science. TiO2 t is inexpensive, non-toxic, resistant to photo-corrosion, and has high oxidative power. TiO2 nanoparticles have been proposed for a wide range of uses including catalysis, photovoltaic cells, self-cleaning devices, sensors, Li-ion battery materials, optical emission, water splitting, paints, paper, cosmetics, and so forth. TiO2 occurs mainly in three different crystal structures, which are anatase, rutile, and brookite, and it was reported that the phase composition of TiO2 has effect on its photocatalytic property. On the other hand amorphous TiO2 is of interest for adsorption because of its high surface area and high adsorption. Moreover, simple synthesis with elimination of the calcination step would mean lower costs for chemicals and energy consumption. In this work, the adsorption of toluene on TiO2 nanoparticle (amorphous TiO2, hybrid(amorphous/crystalline) TiO2, anatase TiO2) were carried out in order to compare adsorption of them. The TiO2 nanoparticles were supplied by PATHWORKS. The TiO2 nanoparticles were characterized using XRD, SEM, TGA, FT-IR and BET.
