Recently, carbonaceous materials such as carbon nanotubes(CNTs), graphenes(GPs), graphene nanoplatelets(GnPs), and so on have been widely used in a vast array of applications due to their extraordinary mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties. In composites, they can function as fillers to enhance the characteristics of polymer matrices. Many studies have proved that by adding a small amount of CNT or GnP into polymers, the flexural strength, tensile strength, and electrical conductivity of the final products are significant improved. In this research, we are investigating the potential of using these carbonaceous materials in our poly(acrylonitrile-butyl acrylate) water-based binder by in-situ polymerization technique and the synthesized composites show remarkable performances in not only mechanical but also electrochemical properties, which benefit for the anode of Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs), especially high capacity silicon anodes. |
