In this paper, cobalt ions doped tungsten trioxide thin films were prepared by facile solution process. The electrochromic properties of thin films were significantly increased by dopant effect. The precursor solution was prepared with various dopant concentration (0.5, 1, 2, 3 and 4% wt). Then, the thin films were annealed at 300 ºC for 3hours in furnace with the presence of air. The morphology of films was confirmed by field-emission scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope and X-ray diffraction. The CV curves of films were surveyed at scan rate 50 mV/s (from -2V to +1 V). The transmittance modulation results showed that the performance of cobalt doped films was better than those of bare tungsten trioxide films (33% compare to 17% at wavelength 800nm). The higher coloration efficiency (87.5 cm2C-1) of cobalt ions doped tungsten oxide films make it becomes a prominent candidate in electronic display field as well as smart window application. |
