High Conducting 3D Cross-linked Epoxy-Based Polymer Electrolyte |

Uncontrolled growth of lithium dendrite during charge and discharge process are the major cause of safety issues in lithium ion battery with liquid electrolyte. Since solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) or gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) as an alternative solution still meets obstacles with their mechanical properties that trade off with ion conductivity, cross-linked comes to be an imperative way to synthesis GPE with excellent mechanical properties. In this work, ring-opening polymerization reaction was used for preparing a flexible, compact and high ion conducting 3D cross-linked GPE. Epoxy resin is used for enhancing mechanical properties, while poly (ethylene glycol) diethyl ether (PEGDE) and N, N - Dimethylbenzyamine (BDMA) are cross-linked to ensure the ion transport in GPE. High ion conductivity and flexibility in 3D cross-linked epoxy based GPE are tribute to mixture of weak-binding Li[TFSI] salt solvating in [BMIM] [TFSI] ionic liquid. |
