제목 | Surface modification of NCC and used as strengthening and retention aid in papermaking |
초록 | The structure of nanocrystalline cellulose is parallelepiped rod-like, and their cross-sectional dimension is in the nanometer range with a high aspect ratio. According to its structure,NCC possesses an abundance of hydroxyl groups on the surface,where chemical reactions can be conducted. Positive charges can also be easily introduced on the surface of CNs; for example, weak or strong ammoniumcontaining groups, such as epoxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride (EPTMAC), can be grafted onto the CN surfaces. Microparticle retention systems(NCC together with cationic polyacrylamide and cationic starch) in the process of making hand-sheet is used to study the effect of NCC and modified NCC in pulp retention and paper strength properties . |
