The polymerization of substituted acetylenes with hydroxy functional group are of interest because of their unique structures and facile modification of hydroxy groups with other interesting functional groups. We have also reported on the synthesis of various polyacetylene derivatives with different functional groups. Here, we report on the synthesis of a new family of conjugated polymer with two hydroxy group-containing bulky substituents, poly(17a-ethynylestradiol), and its physical and spectroscopic properties. |
