제목 Evaluation of an in situ forming N-hexanoyl glycol chitosan hydrogel for wound healing
초록 An in situ forming hydrogel was prepared from N-hexanoyl glycol chitosan and investigated for applications of wound healing. It can be prepared by simple method without using additional cross-linking process. The cytotoxicity and biodegradability of N-hexanoyl glycol chitosan were evaluated and found non-toxic and biodegradable. The sol-gel transition of N-hexanoyl glycol chitosan well controlled from 23 to 56℃ at a low concentration (3-7 wt%) depending on the degree of hexanoylation (DH) and concentration of polymer solution. When observed by electron microscopy, the N-hexanoyl glycol chitosan based hydrogel had a highly porous structure. The wound healing efficacy of hydrogel was evaluated with mice excisional wound model. It was found that the wound covered with gel was filled with new epithelium without any significant adverse reactions and capable of enhancing wound healing. Therefore N-hexanoyl glycol chitosan hydrogel may applied an effective and safe for wound healing.
