In the past few decades, magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) has attracted considerable attention due to the wide range of applications such as biotechnology, biomedical, material science, engineering, and environmental areas. Since MNP has supermagnetism property which makes them suitable for fast response by magnetic field at the size range of 10-20 nm, MNP can be used to enhance the sensitivity and the stability of biosensors for the detection of several analytes in biomedical fields. In this work, MNP which has various size and shape were synthesized by co-precipitation and thermal decomposition method using ferric and ferrous chloride. In addition, surface modification of MNP by amino (-NH2) and carboxy (-COOH) group was conducted to recognize specific molecular target. Their physicochemical properties and morphology were determined. |
