High dielectric performance of all-polymer nanocomposites induced by polyaniline nanoparticles with interparticle barrier layer |

Polyaniline (PANI)-polyimide (PI) core-shell nanoparticles have been successfully prepared using a reprecipitation method. Monodisperse PANI-PI core-shell nanoparticles (~ 50 nm in diameter) were formed by precipitating PANI/NMP (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidon) solution into PAA (Poly(amic acid))/ethanol/acetone solution, followed by chemical imidization which proceeded with acetic anhydride and pyridine. The PAA served as a polymeric stabilizer and dopant, preventing the PANI particles from macroscopic aggregation. As-prepared nanoparticles were applied to all-polymer nanocomposites for high dielectic performance as fillers composed of PANI cores and PI shells. These modified percolative all-polymer composites showed a high dielectric constant. |
