제목 T-cell mediated immunity by bi-metallic nanorods-assisted ‘bridging’ strategy
초록 Multi-segmented nanorods have been studied for potential applications to gene and drug delivery due to their unique morphological features. Because the length of the segments is variably controlled by the amount of electric currents in the electrodeposition process, the nanorods are prepared in custom-made dimensions with different aspect ratios. We electrodeposited gold/nickel multi-segmented and surface-decorated with two different ligands, mannose and GRGDS peptide, which are recognized by immune cells. Two different molecules on a nanorod served for the anchorages of antigen presenting cells (APCs) and T cells. Specific conjugation of the ligands was characterized by confocal microscopy analysis. Surface-decorated nanorods with Jurkat T cells, immortalized human T lymphocytes, CD11c+ bone marrow dendritic cells from C57B/6 mice were added to the incubation medium. The levels of cytokines such as interleukin (IL)-2 were determined by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
