제목 Preparation of Nafion/silica hybrid membrane using sol-gel process
초록 The renewable energy resources are developed to solve the depletion of energy resources and the environmental problems. Redox flow batteries are the electrochemical storage systems to save the new energy. Redox flow batteries are designed to convert and store the electrical energy into the chemical energy. Nafion/silica hybrid membrane was prepared by the sol-gel process and employed as the separator for Zn-Br redox flow battery. Nafion/silica hybrid membrane was made from Nafion dispersion solution and tetraethyl orthosilicate(TEOS) as silica precursor. The silica content in the Nafion matrix was optimized to obtain the stable membrane to prevent the bromine crossover. The characteristic properties of the Nafion/silica hybrid membranes are investigated by scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and LCR meter. Bromine ion permeability was measured with the ion chromatograph. The property of membrane varied with the drying temperature and the TEOS concentration.
