Development of texture of carbonaceous sorbent for use in methane recovery from gaseous mixtures
The porous structure of commercial sorbent was developed by its additional activation with steam. Mesopore and micropore structures activates of various burn-off were determined using benzene adsorption/desorption isotherms. Parameters of the Dubinin-Radushkevich equation were calculated as well as the micropore size distribution by the Horvath-Kawazoe method. The usability of the activates in enrichment of the methane containing gaseous mixtures was evaluated in the test which simulate the basic stages of the PSA process. The results of textural investigations and of the performed tests showed the highest separation ability of the activate with 0.185 degree burn-off.
