In the paper there are presented tests results of the cross-current sedimentation for some kinds of suspensions (the suspension from the steel converter plant, the suspension from the utilisation process of battery scrap, the suspension from the coal enrichment process and the chromium suspension). The tests have been made in a laboratory scale. In these tests the dependence of the surface load and the fed suspension concentration on the sedimentation effectiveness in a clarifying process. Based on the test results empirical equations of the investigated dependence have been worked out.
