Hydraulics and mass transfer in packed distilation columns with pulsating flow of vapour phase
The primary objective of the investigations was to enhance mass transfer in a packed distillation column by artificially induced pulsation in the vapor phase. For the needs of the study, an original experimental setup was designed and constructed. The results are presented in graphical and analytical form. Relevant equations relate the efficiency of, and the pressure drop in, a packed column with and without pulsation to the amplitude and frequency of pulsation, as well as to the column loading.
