Sulphur dioxide removal using activated sorbents
Results are presented of experimental investigation of the dry flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) process at low temperatures using activated sorbents. Solid wastes (ashes) from the dry (with humidification) FGD plant are used as a sorbent. The influence of basic operating parameters on the efficiency Of SO2 removal is determined. More than twofold sulphur dioxide removal efficiency is obtained using activated sorbents in comparison with the efficiency obtained in the process with dry sorbents. The possibility of reduction of sorbent consumption in the dry method of FGD with humidification is found.
