Influence of methanol or ethanol on the growth rate of L-sorbose crystals in batch cooling crystallizer
The measurement results of the crystal growth rate in L-sorbose-methanol-water and L-sorbose -ethanol-water systems are presented. Experiments were carried out using the batch cooling crystallizer with an internal circulation of suspension. ne influence of the cooling rate and the temperature has been determined. The rates of L-sorbose crystal growth were estimated from crystal size distribution according to the calculation procedure for the MSMPR crystallizer. The results can be used in the analysis of crystallization of the L-sorbose from alcohol-water solutions.
