Properties of the catalysts used for the photodegradation of chlorinated organic compounds
The rate of the photocatalytic degradation of trichloroethylene (TCE) on TiO2 doped with metal oxides was investigated. An empirical correlation, based on the experimental results, was elaborated, which showed that the kinetic constants of the photodegradation process depend on the electronic properties of the dopant used. An explanation of the observed dependence was proposed.
