The range of studies on the modelling of the sedimentation multi-flux process is presented. The most important research in Polish science centres were described. The author presented the examples of the implementation in the metallurgic and mining industry. The author has also shown further ways of the development of the counter-current sedimentation and the simultaneous clarifying and thickening of the suspension.
