In the work general application of chromatography process in an industrial scale has been discussed. The batch process performed in the single chromatographic column as well as the continuous process realized in the system of columns assembled in series as the SMB process (Simulated Moving Bed) have been mentioned. The modeling and optimization of chromatography taking particularly into consideration the SMB process have been discussed.
