Non-classical prospective methods of obtaining methanol and formaldehyde
The research concerned methane to methanol conversion without obtaining synthesis gas. The process was conducted in the presence of catalysts, non-catalytically at elevated pressure and also at two stages - by methane esterification and hydrolysis of the produced ester. Considering the high methanol yield (65%) the latter solution seems to be prospective.
