Numerical experiments on dynamic of two-dimensional vortex structures
It was compared the point vortex dynamics with the dynamics of the vortex patches. The single point vortex can not move by itself, and two point vortex generated the constants linear scale. Only the system of three point vortices can generate the different scales because in the certain circumstances they can collapse in finite time to one point. But the single non-symmetrical vorticity patch can produce a object with different linear scale. The divergence of the linear scales of vortex structures in the flow is typical feature of turbulence.
