The paper presents results of ash erosion investigations in selected convective tube banks of boilers. The physical modeling studies were made in Institute of Power Engineering and Turbomachinery of the Silesian University of Technology. New kinds of tube banks consisting of triple-finned and plain tubes were investigated. The physical modeling results were compared with numerical simulations of erosion behavior made by means of CFD code Fluent 6.1 for the same tube bank arrangements.
