Liquid-phase mass transfer in a zone of collision of streams of media in apparatuses based on the TPJ method of gas dispersal
The subject of this study is mass transfer in two vessels based on the two-perpendicular-jets (TPJ) method of gas dispersal in liquid resulting from continuous collisions of media jets. The region of intense turbulent flow near the collision zone was concerned. Effects of width of liquid distributor nozzle (slot) and media flow rates on the volumetric liquid-phase mass transfer coefficient were determined. The values of k(L)a were compared with those obtained for other mass exchangers for gas-liquid systems when sections characterized by highly turbulent mixing were regarded.
