Analysis of transport processes near the wall region of a stirred tank with an eccentric impeller
Transport processes near the wall region have been analysed on the basis of the global and local characteristics obtained experimentally for a stirred tank equipped with an eccentrically located HE 3 impeller. The effects of the eccentricity and the diameter of the impeller on the axial and angular profiles of the heat and momentum transfer coefficients have been studied within the turbulent regime of the Newtonian liquid flow in the stirred tank. The averaged heat transfer coefficients, shear rates and friction coefficients, as well as power consumption are correlated by means of suitable equations.
