Different start-up strategies for batch extractive distillation were developed and investigated using rigorous simulations. For this purpose a detailed dynamic model is developed that takes into account a cold and empty column as an initial condition. The developed strategies consider also the variation in beginning of entrainer supply for several start-up procedures (start-up operation cases).
