Hydrodynamics and drying kinetics in a pulsed fluid system with modified pulsation
Investigations have been carried out on the influence of the modified gas pulsation on the hydrodynamics and drying kinetics in a pulsed fluid bed system (PFB) with modified pulsation as well as. Material properties (particle diameter, bulk density), bed height, pulsation frequency and the diameter of the additional openings in the gas distributor disc have been taken into account. The empirical equations of the lower and upper pulse-fluidisation velocities, reduced pressure drop of the bed in the pulsed fluid bed system with modified pulsation and characteristic gas distributor specifications have been developed. The results indicate a possibility to expand the application of the pulsed fluid bed system in the constant rate period and elimination of the classic PFB system limitations.
