Yeast disintegration in a bead mill
Yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae disintegration in a bead mill with a multi-disk impeller and stable baffles have been investigated. Variable parameters were the concentration of microorganism suspension and the rate of impeller rotations. Deviation of the process from linearity was confirmed. Changes in the disintegration rate during the process were explained by a change of disintegration conditions. It was found that a non-linear equation described the process kinetics in a better way than a linear one.
