Contact Interaction and Wetting of Strontium Fluoride by Metal Melts
The wetting of SrF2 by pure metals and Cu-Ti (Zr) and Ni-Ti (Zr) alloys by the sessile drop method in vacuum (1 x 10(-3) Pa) was studied. Ga, In, Sn, Pb, Al, Cu, Ag, Au do not wet SrF2 in the temperature range from melting point up to 1250 degrees C. The phenomenon of dewetting of SrF2 by Al and Ti-containing binary alloys at temperatures higher than 1100 degrees C is observed. (C) Koninklijke Brill NV, Leiden, 2012
