Effect of composition and temperature upon density, viscosity, surface tension, and refractive index of 2,2,4-trimethylpentane plus cyclohexane plus decane ternary liquid systems
The influence of temperature on the density, viscosity, surface tension, and refractive index of 2,2,4-trimethylpentane (isooctane) + cyclohexane + n-decane has been determined at atmospheric pressure. Measurements were made over the temperature range 20 degreesC to 50 degreesC. The experimental values of viscosity were correlated with mole fraction of the components using the McAllister and Grumberg-Nissan equations. The experimental data have been used to calculate deviations. The results were fitted to the Redlich-Kister equation.
