Equilibrium Conditions of Ethane Hydrates in the Presence of Aqueous Solutions of Alcohols, Glycols, and Glycerol
Equilibrium conditions of ethane hydrates in aqueous solutions of methanol, ethanol, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, and glycerol were experimentally measured at temperatures ranging from (261.6 to 285.9) K and pressures of up to 3.12 MPa using an isochoric method. On a mass fraction basis, the inhibiting effect on ethane hydrate formation decreased in the following order: methanol > ethanol > ethylene glycol > glycerol approximate to diethylene glycol > triethylene glycol.
