Heat transfer enhancement in saturated pool nucleate boiling by screwed fins at the heating surface
Screwed fins were installed at the heating surface in order to promote heat transfer in saturated pool nucleate boiling. The interstice between the heating surface with screwed fins and the screw division was found to supply the bubble nucleus, and heat transfer was enhanced up to 4.6 times in comparison with the heating surface without screwed fins. Heat transfer also increased with the increase in the fin number and with the decrease in the pressure. Within the range of experimental conditions a dimensionless correlation for the saturated pool nucleate boiling heat transfer at the heating surface with screwed fins was obtained.
