Salt bath systems
In the past salt bath systems for the continuous vulcanisation of profiles had one negative aspect - environmental pollution. However, since certain physical properties of the profile, such as optional compression set, can only be achieved, until now, with peroxide-cured rubber compounds, the salt bath is indispensable. For the energy source gas or oil is used. Thermal oil or air is used as the heat transfer medium. In order to reduce both the complexity and the space requirements, it was decided to place the energy source there where it is required, i.e. directly under the salt tank. The warming of the salt tank takes place from below by means of natural gas warmed air in free convection. Wide use of nitrate/nitrite eutectic salts is made. Profile washing sections with cascades and salt recovery systems are used.
