Antiseptic rubber and latex
Antiseptic rubber and latex products were prepared by adding Tetramethyl Dithiooxamide (TMDTOA) or N-Phenyl, N'-Cyclohexyl-3,4-Phenylene Diamine (PPDA) to the blends prior to mixing and vulcanization. TMDTOA and PPDA are vulcanization-resistant and products thereof are active against different types of bacterial and fungal (e.g. Candida, Aspergillus) pathogens. The antiseptic rubber and latex products are stable and remain effective against the microbial pathogens for a long time, which determines their potential use for the preparation of antiseptic rubber and latex products for medicine and everyday life.
