It is difficult for new process technologies to become established in extrusion technology. A number of the reasons for this are the high line costs, the low number of new lines being installed, the risk of a new technology not giving the desired results after all and the high costs of the tests required on production line. Despite this, new ideas and solutions are repeatedly emerging which are aimed at both reducing the production costs of extruded products and improving product quality.
