THE EFFECT OF STRUCTURE-BORNE SOUND. A procedure for the acoustic design of technical plastics parts was developed. Starting from the gathering of material data according to the stressing, to making the sound pressure level audible, the procedure was verified both experimentally and by simulation (FEA and BEA). The results show that very good agreement can already be achieved between the simulated and experimentally determined surface velocities and sound pressure levels.
