ALL-ROUNDER. Industrial gases are already being employed in the plastics processing sector and will increasingly serve as auxiliaries for making production more economical and for improving quality. Various established methods, such as the gas-injection technique and physical foaming, are described along with innovative new technologies, such as shortening of cycle times in injection moulding through the selective use of carbon dioxide or nitrogen.
