PBTOLIGOMERS. A recently developed technology is based on the fact that cyclic butylene terephthalate (CBT) oligomers - i. e. thermoplastic precursors - allow the economic production of reinforced PBT compounds under both thermoset and reactive thermoplastic processing conditions. By varying the process and process conditions, tailored PBT products covering a broad range of properties and applications can be produced.
