A new 1-hexadecylammonium-polyoxomolybdate composite thin film has been successfully prepared by the supramolecular template method. The film was lamellar in structure, and the main product in the film was identified to be (C(16)H(33)NH(3))(4)Mo(8)O(26). The composite film shows photochromisin in the violet color region.
