The microcellular foam molding technology described in this article permits molders to reduce manufacturing costs while producing strong, dimensionally stable parts, considerably extending the applications of foamed polymers. The article describes those benefits, shows the effect of processing: conditions on cellular structure, and reviews some successful applications of the technology.
