Thermoforming
Advances in tooling, process technology, and materials have allowed thermoforming to expand into more complex and cost-effective designs than might have been imagined only a few years ago. CAD/CAM solid modeling, CNC machining of tools, greater precision of temperature measurement and routers, and the continued evolution of capabilities such as twin-sheet and pressure forming are enabling thermoforming to compete with other major processes where low to medium production volumes are required.
