Getting More From Regrind High-quality reprocessed scrap helps offset high resin prices.
As announcements of double-digit increases in resin prices have become almost routine, less-expensive reprocessed resins may appear more tempting to use. Yet using scrap, regrind, or recycled resin efficiently and effectively remains a challenge, given handling issues and potential. resin degradation from the heat history of the reclaimed material. Depending on how much on-site reprocessing is done by a processor versus how much reprocessed resin is purchased, profitability may require upgrades in equipment setups, enhancements to the reclaimed resin, and careful thought about in what products reprocessed material should really be used.
