Separation of hydrocarbons by steam carrier-gas chromatography on silipore with surface-bonded metal acetylacetonate layers
Chromatographic properties of sorbents based on Silipore 075 modified with surface-attached layers of nickel, zinc, and iron acetylacetonates were examined, using steam as a carrier gas. The separation of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons on these sorbents was found to be selective. The thickness of water film on the sorbent surface was shown to be one of the factors influencing the selectivity of the stationary phase.
