The activity of some promoted intermetallic iron-zirconium alloys was examined in the Fischer-Tropsch reaction. A promotion criterion was proposed, which establishes a relation between the electronic properties of promoter metals and their activity in the reaction of CO hydrogenation to hydrocarbons.
