Catalytic oxidation of lube-stock sulfides by hydrogen peroxide
The catalytic properties of acids and metal compounds in the oxidation reactions of lube-stock sulfides with hydrogen peroxide were examined. Comparative data on the efficiency of these catalysts in the oxidation of lube-stock sulfides are presented. The catalytic activity was compared in terms of the extent and selectivity of sulfide conversion into sulfoxides. Acid mixtures and molybdenum peroxo complexes exhibited the highest catalytic activity.
