Concentration and distribution of oxygen-containing compounds in crude oils from the southeastern part of Western Siberia
The concentration and distribution of oxygen-containing compounds in crude oils from Jurassic deposits of the southeastern part of Western Siberia have been investigated. Close correlations between compounds containing oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur atoms have been demonstrated. It has been concluded that petroleum oxygen was inherited from the primary biomass and its content is determined mainly by the type and the burial environment of this biomass, which forms the sediment organic matter transforming subsequently into oil.
