The extent of carbonate decomposition and calculation of carbon emission factor for CFB boilers of oil shale power plants are examined. The research results proved that CO2 emission from CFB boilers of Estonian power plants is at least 20% less than that at pulverised firing of oil shale. It is recommended to additionally insert in the regulation of the Minister of the Environment a new value for the carbon emission factor for CFB boilers.
