A blasting cap test for evaluating self-reactivity hazards
This paper describes a simple blasting cap test that furnishes information on sensitivity to initiation as well as rudimentary information on propagation. The design of the test provides containment of most condensed-Phase residues and explosion reaction products while minimizing noise pollution. We include comparison between test results and thermochemical hazard predictions determined by calculation of the adiabatic reaction temperature (CART).
