Naturally occurring pesticides and their plant protection applications
A review with 54 (including Authors' own) refs. covering lignin cellulose (cortex) and keratin wastes processed into keratin-bark-urea granulates and used either as solid or liquid biofertilizers or as pesticides; purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) extracts containing lipophilic fractions rich in alkylamides, poly-enes, -ines, and -acetylenes, Umbelliferae, Rutaceae and Solanaceae (e.g. garden angelica, parsnip, hogweed) seeds and/or fruits as a source of furanocoumarins; garlic-borne compounds, chitosan; and various commercial preparations, e.g., garlic-based "Albarep", "Bioczos", and grapefruit stone-based "Biosept-33SL" active against fungal phytopathogens.
