The PEAK-4 instrument for studying catalysts by temperature-programmed methods
The fully automated instrument applies an impulse technique to measure sorption and thermal desorption to determine the specific surface, and enables adsorption isotherms to be recorded. A computer-steered 220-V reactor (6-mm quartz tube) can be operated over -196 to 850degreesC at heating and cooling rates of 0.01-50 and 0.01-25degreesC/min, resp., with carrier gas flow rates 1-100 mL/min and concentrations of reactive gas (H-2, O-2)-inert gas (He, Ar) mixtures prepared by PEAK-4, 10-100%, injected volumes 0.05 and 0.2 mL equipped with K-type thermocouples, a Pt100 sensor, an katharometer; power requirement 600 W and signal amplification factor up to 10(4) (in 5 steps).
